On the Horizon

Professional Women’s Hockey League – Draft in Detroit
As the PWHL continues to make history with its expansion to 12 teams—SGU is thrilled to be part of the momentum. During this year’s draft in Detroit, Strong Girls United will be onsite leading a youth mentorship event that brings girls closer to the game, the athletes, and the possibilities ahead for women’s sports. We’re bringing the community together this summer at the Hub in York, Maine for our annual Open House & Block Party! Food trucks, free swag, a dunk tank and much more!

Where We’re Showing Up

Career Night Inspires the Next Generation

This month, SGU hosted an inspiring Career Night, where women in business, sports and leadership shared their experience and advice, helping girls expand their vision for the future and build confidence to pursue their goals and dream big!

Wrapping Up the PWHL Mentorship Program

We also celebrated the conclusion of an impactful season of our PWHL Mentorship Program. Through leadership development, meaningful conversations and connections with professional women in sports, participants gained confidence and a lasting sense of community.

Showing Up in the National Youth Sports Conversation

During Mental Health Awareness Month we highlighted with NBC Sports Engine the importance of creating healthier, more supportive youth sport environments for girls. Read More.
