Welcome to The May Huddle!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month—and at Strong Girls United, it’s at the heart of everything we do. In just the first quarter of this year, Strong Girls United reached 938 total participants across programs, events, and partnerships! Every day, we see what happens when girls are given the tools to build not just strong bodies, but strong minds.
Winter sessions at The Hub proved connection and belonging emerged as the most valued outcomes of our participants, reinforcing SGU’s role as a supportive and empowering community. Participants are not only building confidence—they are actively applying tools such as mindfulness, positive self-talk, and resilience strategies in their daily lives, extending the program’s impact beyond the Hub.
Mental health support for girls doesn’t happen by accident—it happens through intentional spaces, trusted mentors, and consistent access to sport and community. This Mental Health Awareness Month and beyond, we remain committed to creating spaces where girls feel seen, supported, and strong—inside and out. |

| Where We’re Showing Up
PWHL Partnership - Mentorship in Action
Through our partnership with the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) girls across North America are building confidence, learning mental skills, and connecting directly with professional athletes! This year, 120 mentees are part of this experience—gaining tools to manage pressure, build resilience, and feel like they belong in sport.
