Lexie Hull teams up with Strong Girls United for Cleveland Final Four Event

events Apr 06, 2024

Cleveland, Ohio – [April 6, 2024] –  SG United Foundation and the Aspire Program of Hathaway Brown teamed up for an event to Empower Girls for Life! This event was during the historic Women's Final Four in Cleveland, Ohio and incorporated the SGU motto: strong bodies, kind hearts, and unstoppable minds through team building, mental skills and confidence building stations. Over 60 students from the Aspire program participated.

Lexie Hull, Stanford Champion and Indiana Fever guard joined Strong Girls United for this event. Lexie’s journey is one of relentless hard work and dedication. As a member of the Stanford Women's Basketball team, she helped lead them to back-to-back NCAA Final Four appearances, culminating in a National Championship win in 2021! Her talent goes beyond the court – Lexie was also awarded the prestigious Elite 90 award for having the highest GPA amongst all players in the Final Four, and was a three-time All-Pac-12 selection.

Lexie’s passion extends far beyond the game. She’s a vocal advocate for giving back to the community and inspires others with her determination and leadership. Lexie spoke about growing up and competing with her twin sister, her experience transitioning to college sports and the WNBA, and what it was like to be called to compete for Team USA in the FIBA 3x3 championship.

The Strong Girls United team who ran this event included Lani Silversides (Founder of SGU, former D1 college basketball player, and New England Basketball Hall of Famer), Sophia Slovenski (NCAA D3 National Champion Javelin, 2023 NCAA Finalist for Woman of the Year), and Charlie Ekstrom (former Stanford beach volleyball player, and current professional beach volleyball player). They also had support from 6 student-athletes from Case Western Reserve University who were incredible additions to mentor the Aspire girls throughout the day.

All participants were then invited for free to the NCAA All-Star game at Cleveland State.
